The Outer West area is also a popular venue for weddings and other functions thus Calmswood is conveniently situated to access these venues. In fact we are right next door to the Makaranga Garden Lodge. Also within 5-15 minutes drive are the following well-known schools - Kloof High, The Thomas More College, St. Marys DSG, Fulton, Highbury, Hillcrest High; and Kearsney College.

Our situation also makes Calmswood an ideal place for those participating in, or wanting to experience the famous Comrades Marathon, the Amashovashova Cycle Race and Duzi Canoe Marathon.

Other attractions in the area include:
Kloof Gorge and Kranskloof Nature Reserve with trails and spectacular views, a picnic site and Interpretive Centre.

The Valley of a 1000 Hills Tourist Route which includes curio shops, a crocodile farm, pubs, restaurants and of course the magnificent scenery.

PheZulu Safari Park cultural experience with daily performances of Zulu dancing.

Umgeni Steam Railway which runs a steam train from Kloof Station (Stokers Arms) to Inchange Station on the first and last Sunday of each month.

Shongweni Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings from 6-10am.

Golf courses at Kloof Country Club, Cotswold Downs, Camelot and the Emberton Driving Range.

Inanda Dam, Shongweni Dam and Nature Reserve.
